Softball Victorious
Unlike last seasons' disastrous start, our co-rec softball team got off to an inspired, not-nearly-as-bad-as-expected 1-0 start. I went 1 for 2 with a 2-RBI walk and another run driven in. Sure, I could have caught a couple of balls that sailed over the end of my glove, but that's water under the bridge of a huge victory.

The snow is still coming down. They got 18 inches up north.

I think these pictures have a nice flow to them. Veggies plus Grill yields Tastiness.

Dinner was courtesy of the newest member of the family, our grill-bot "Jorge". He has been good to us for the week we've had him. (He always looks so eager, no?) The weather is finally agreeable enough out to not have to skitter in and out to attend to the huge flames that were once your meal.

I've been too busy reading, bottling, and art-gazing to attend properly to matters here. Also, I'm still having difficulty logging in and only have myself to blame.

A quiet moment here today so I took the time to try out my new telephoto lens. The last snow (fingers crossed) of the season is melting off making a nice backdrop for the buds in the top frame.

The Standoff
Winter refuses to leave these parts with a dusting of snow at home and more to the west. It's starting to rankle nerves as the cold stuff collides with everyone's ideas about what they would or should be doing the first week of April.

I've been wondering what to do about the landscaping under my deck that was left to its own devices last year and promises to devolve into an ugly thicket this time around. My instinct is to rip everything up and start over, but I don't think I'll have the time, the budget, or (especially) the will for it. Still, it can't be ignored -- after all, what will the neighbors think?

In the meantime, I can't get enough of 360cities. 360 degree panoramas from cities all over the world. So I can feel like I'm accomplishing what I should be: going outside.
